Doug Adamson began his business-writing career as a staff writer for The Canadian Press covering the Toronto Stock Exchange and other business stories. After a stint as a business reporter and feature writer for The Telegram, the other Toronto evening newspaper of its time, Doug joined Babson’s Canadian Reports Ltd. where he wrote a well-known newsletter for many years before moving to the brokerage side of the street as an analyst and institutional salesman.
More recently, Doug has been working closely with chartered accountants writing articles that have appeared in Canadian and American business journals such as Lawyers Weekly, CAmagazine, For the Defense, The Corporate Lawyer and Advisor, American Journal of Family Law, and many others.
His work has also been published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Some of his writing and editing has also appeared in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation for Non-Experts, published by John Wiley & Sons, as well as Early Childhood Curricula and the Depathologizing of Childhood and volume 43 of the Collected Works of Erasmus, both published by the University of Toronto Press.
Doug holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
