Dear Inner Circle member, Here’s a third (consecutive) look at the pitfalls of trying to predict market corrections. This week we focus on interest rates, which some investors now see as the single most important factor for the market. Today, many investors think the surprise election of Donald Trump as U.S. President marks the start of a new, faster phase of U.S. economic growth. We agree with that general idea. Trump and the Republican Party are likely to bring in a long-overdue tax reform, and move toward a much less restrictive and less costly regulatory regime for business. That should help the U.S. break out of the slow-growth rut it has been in for the past eight years. That’s why the U.S. and Canadian markets are moving up.
