It also manufactures cleaning gear for stadiums, auto service stations, parking lots and city streets. In the three months ended September 30, 2016, Tennant’s overall sales fell 2.3%, to $200.1 million from $204.8 million a year earlier. Lower demand in Europe and Asia offset higher sales in the Americas. Earnings declined 5.9%, to $0.64 a share from $0.68. The company now expects to earn between $2.40 and $2.60 a share in 2016. The stock trades at a somewhat high 28.8 times the midpoint of that range. Tennant is also raising its quarterly dividend with the December 2016 payment by 5.0%, to $0.21 a share from $0.20.
