APPLE INC., $159.88, Nasdaq symbol AAPL, has unveiled the latest versions of its popular iPhone smartphones, along with those for its Apple Watch and other products. The new phones, called iPhone 8 and the larger iPhone 8 Plus, come with several upgrades such as faster processors, more memory and better cameras. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone, Apple has also launched a new premium-priced model ($999 U.S.) called iPhone X. Unlike regular phones, which require the user to enter a passcode or scan their fingerprint to unlock it, the iPhone X scans a user’s face. The new device also features an edge-to-edge, high-definition screen. The stock has gained 38% since the start of 2017. Apple gets over half of its revenue from the iPhone, and investors feel the new models will spur more users to upgrade. However, the stock fell slightly after the company unveiled its new phones.
