The Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) is now closing its 96 department stores. Through a joint venture, RioCan owns 22% of 10 HBC stores. It also own 50% of three more stores. As a result of those closures, the REIT now expects its cash flow for all of 2025 will range from $1.85 to $1.88 a unit, down from its earlier forecast of $1.89 to $1.92 a unit. The units trade at a moderate 9.1 times the midpoint of that new range. The $1.158 distribution yields a solid 6.8%. RioCan REIT is buy.
