Starting with the March 2018 payment, 3M will raise its quarterly dividend by 15.7%, to $1.36 a share from $1.175. The new annual rate of $5.44 yields 2.3%. The company has increased that payout each year for the past 60 years. 3M recently settled a lawsuit with the State of Minnesota over the disposal of perfluorochemicals (PFCs). The company used PFCs to make its fabric protection products. Under the terms of the deal, 3M will contribute $850 million to a new cleanup fund.
