Mitel adds cloud users

The company also offers call-centre and videoconferencing products. Mitel has moved from just selling programs that are installed at its customers’ offices; it now uses a cloud model, where it keeps its software on its own servers and sells it through online subscriptions. That provides steadier, recurring revenue. The company added 172,894 cloud subscriptions in the latest quarter, ended March 31, 2017. Mitel now has a total of 3.26 million cloud users, up 48.7% from 2.19 million a year earlier. Mitel trades at just 9.3 times the company’s forecast 2017 earnings of $0.80 U.S. a share.
