The test will start in three markets: Phoenix, Kansas City, and Columbus, Ohio. Customers who order through Chipotle’s app or on Chipotle.com will earn 15 points for every $1 they spend. Those who order in person receive 10 points. They can redeem 1,250 points, the result of $125 in spending, for a free entree. Additionally, customers in the three pilot markets will also get free chips and guacamole after their first Chipotle Rewards order. Apart from attracting and retaining customers, the new loyalty program will let the company contact customers more often with personalized marketing. It will also provide Chipotle with more data on how its customers interact with the company through delivery, pickup and in-store dining.
