FAIR ISAAC CORP. $59 (www.fico.com) earned $20.5 million in the quarter ended June 30, 2014. That’s up 4.7% from $19.6 million a year earlier. Earnings per share rose 9.1%, to $0.60 from $0.55, on fewer shares outstanding. Revenue gained 7.5%, to $197.6 million from $183.8 million. Sales rose at the company’s main Applications division (66% of the total) on increased licensing revenue from software that detects bank fraud. That helped offset a decline in sales of credit-scoring and analytics software. The banking industry supplies 75% of Fair Isaac’s revenue, and slowing mortgage demand could slow its sales growth.
