Angle Energy, $5.20, symbol NGL on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 46.7 million; Market cap: $242.7 million), develops, produces and explores for natural gas and natural-gas liquids in Alberta. Natural-gas liquids are extracted with natural gas. They include propane, butane, pentane, hexane and heptane. Angle sells these to customers that include petrochemical companies and refiners. Natural-gas liquids account for around 40% of Angle’s output, and help lower the company’s reliance on pure natural gas. In the three months ended June 30, 2009, Angle’s production rose 25.3%, to 7,462 barrels of oil equivalent per day (this measurement includes natural gas) from 5,965 barrels a year earlier. Despite this, the company’s cash flow per share fell 61.8%, to $0.21 from $0.55 a year earlier, mainly because of sharply lower natural gas prices. Angle’s realized natural-gas price fell 63.0%, to $3.63 per thousand cubic feet from $9.81. Natural-gas liquids prices fell 58.7%, to $29.68 a barrel from $71.88.
