AMAZON.COM INC., $3,099.40, symbol AMZN on Nasdaq, is a buy. The company is one of the world’s largest online retailers. It’s also the third-largest digital ad provider in the U.S. Its Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the largest cloud infrastructure service providers globally. Amazon continues to disrupt a range of industries—and push down the share prices of competitors in those markets. This week, firms with significant online drug sales, such as Walgreens Boots Alliance (symbol WBA on Nasdaq) and CVS Health Corp. (symbol CVS on New York), took a big dip. That’s because Amazon unveiled Amazon Pharmacy, a new store on Amazon, which lets customers order medications. Shoppers can pay using their health insurance. Amazon Prime members who don’t use their insurance are eligible for discounts of up to 80% off generic and 40% off brand name medications.
