A: Alexco Resource Corp., $1.57, symbol AXR on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 110.5 million; Market cap: $152.5 million; www.alexcoresource.com), owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. The company also operates Alexco Environmental Group, a provider of mine-related environmental services, remediation, reclamation and mine-site closure services. Its customers include government and industry clients in North America and elsewhere. Alexco bought the assets of United Keno Hill Mines Ltd in 2006. This included the Keno Hill Silver District. This mining region encompasses over 35 former mines that produced varyingly from 1918 through 1988. On March 28, 2019, the company announced the results of a pre-feasibility study on its 100% owned Keno Hill Silver project within the District. The study envisions a mine with an eight-year life that would produce 27.2 million ounces of silver, 67.2 million pounds of zinc and 65.4 million pounds of lead.
