It also sells connectivity, modeling, analytics and autonomous driving solutions. The company serves a range of industries including civil engineering, construction, agriculture, natural resources, transportation and government. On December 12, 2022, Sunnydale, California-based Trimble announced that it had acquired German logistics company Transporeon for 1.88 billion euros ($2.0 billion U.S.) in cash from HG Capital. That’s a London and Munich-based private equity firm focused on software investment. Transporeon’s cloud-based transportation management software platform provides more than 145,000 carriers and 1,400 shippers with an integrated suite of tools for sourcing, planning, executing system development. Founded in 2000, Transporeon generates $130 million U.S. in annual sales and $37 million U.S. in earnings. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2023.
