UNITED PARCEL SERVICE INC., $196.05, symbol UPS on New York, is the world’s largest package delivery company. It handles an average of 25.2 million packages every day. It ships those packages for 1.7 million shipping customers to over 220 countries and territories. On August 8, 2022, UPS announced that it would acquire Italy-based Bomi Group, a healthcare logistics provider with temperature-controlled facilities. The company has been providing healthcare multinationals with its specialized services since 1985. The purchase price has not yet been disclosed. Since 2020, UPS has doubled its global footprint in the healthcare market. Recent expansions include newly constructed and soon-to-be-opened dedicated state-of-the-art healthcare logistics facilities in Germany and Australia. It has also expanded campuses in Hungary and the Netherlands. UPS Healthcare recently enhanced UPS Premier, a technology-led service that can prioritize and track critical shipments within 10 feet (about 3 metres) of their location anywhere in UPS’s global network.
