CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL INC., $475.18, symbol CMG on New York, is a Mexican restaurant chain, headquartered in Denver. It charges slightly higher prices than fast-food competitors, but it offers better quality food, including naturally raised meat, and superior decor and service. The company announced this week that it’s expanding its delivery partnership with DoorDash. Chipotle rolled out the partnership across the U.S. in late April 2018, but now consumers can order their burritos for delivery directly from the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com. DoorDash Inc. is an on-demand restaurant courier service founded in 2013 by Stanford students Andy Fang, Stanley Tang and Tony Xu. To mark the launch of direct delivery with DoorDash, Chipotle is offering free delivery on orders of $10 or more through September 12. Most Chipotle restaurants now have a “second make-line,” or food prep team, which is dedicated to fulfilling online and digital orders. The second line is separate from the customer-facing line.
