VF CORP. $90 (New York symbol VF; Consumer sector; Shares outstanding: 395.6 million; Market cap: $35.6 billion; Dividend yield: 2.3%; Takeover Target Rating: Medium; www.vfc.com) has completed the spinoff of Kontoor Brands Inc. (New York symbol KTB). Kontoor makes blue jeans under several popular brands, including Wrangler, Lee and Rock & Republic. The remaining firm will focus on outdoor and activewear clothing brands such as Vans, The North Face and Timberland. VF shareholders received one share in Kontoor Brands for every seven VF shares they held. In its fiscal 2019 fiscal year, ended March 30, 2019, VF’s revenue rose 12.1%, to $13.8 billion from $12.4 billion in 2018. If you exclude businesses that VF bought and sold, as well as currency exchange rates, revenue improved 8%. Revenues were higher due to a 26% increase in sales (excluding currency rates) at Vans and a 10% increase (excluding currency rates) at The North Face.
