In August 2017, the company sold shares of its subsidiary Venator Materials (New York symbol VNTR) in an initial public offering. That independent firm makes titanium dioxide, iron oxide and other pigments and additives for food, drinks, paints and cosmetics. Huntsman retains about 53% of Venator. The company still plans to sell its remaining Venator shares. It will use those proceeds to buy back up to $1.0 billion of its own shares. That’s up from its previous target of $450 million. There are no time limits for those purchases. Huntsman is a buy. GANNETT CO.
