The company has bought small startup firms to accelerate the addition of new technology to its products. Those include Fireglass, an Israeli firm with technology that combats computer hacking by isolating web brows ing and email from corporate networks. Symantec will also buy tech firm Skycure, which uses artificial intelligence and machine-learning techniques to monitor network traffic and block suspicious activity. Buy.
