It mainly sells its clothing to 14-to-17-year-olds. Aeropostale’s 57 “P.S. from Aeropostale” stores in the U.S. are aimed at seven-to-12-year-old elementary-school children. DUNDEE REIT, symbol D.UN on Toronto, owns and manages 14.7 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space, including 88 office buildings and 49 industrial properties. The real estate investment trust’s occupancy rate is 96.1%. In the three months ended March 31, 2011, Dundee’s revenue rose 57.4%, to $91.0 million from $57.8 million a year earlier. Most of the rise came from properties the trust recently purchased. The best way to look at a real estate investment trust’s operating performance is to look at its cash flow, and Dundee’s cash flow rose 72.9% in the latest quarter, to $28.8 million from $16.6 million. Cash flow per unit rose just 1.9%, to $0.55 from $0.54, due to more units outstanding. (The trust issued new units to pay for the acquired properties.)...

Orezone Gold Corp., $4.05, symbol ORE on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 69.9 million; Market cap: $340.3 million; www.orezone.com), is focused on developing its Bombore gold project in Burkina Faso, in western Africa. Bombore contains as much as 3.5 million ounces of gold, with lots of room to add reserves through further exploration. Bombore is 85 kilometres from Ouagadougou, the capital of Mali. It’s near a paved highway, and has access to power and water. The company is now assessing whether to go ahead with a feasibility study on building a mine at the site. Once completed, a mine at Bombore would be able to produce 250,000 ounces of gold a year. As part of its assessment, Orezone is conducting a $24-million, 170-metre drill program this year....
Dorel Industries (Toronto symbol DII.B) makes a wide range of products, including ready-to-assemble home and office furniture; juvenile products, such as car seats, strollers, high chairs, toddler beds and cribs; home furnishings, including chairs, tables, bunk beds, futons and step stools; and recreational products, including bicycles. Zhongpin Inc., symbol HOGS on Nasdaq, is a China-based company that processes meat and other foods. Zhongpin specializes in pork and pork products, as well as fruit and vegetables. It sells 358 meat products, including chilled pork, frozen pork and prepared meats, as well as 34 fruit and vegetable products. Zhongpin focuses on prepared meat, with its higher profit margins, rather than bulk pork. In the three months ended March 31, 2011, the stock pick’s revenue jumped 39.9%, to $285.8 million from $204.3 million a year earlier. Earnings rose 27.1%, to $16.9 million from $13.3 million. Earnings per share rose 23.7%, to $0.47 from $0.38, on more shares outstanding. That beat the consensus earnings forecast of $0.45....

Russel has three divisions: metals service centres (55% of sales) sells carbon steel and non-ferrous metals; energy tubular products (34%) sells tubular products to the energy industry in Western Canada and the U.S.; and steel distributors (11%) sells steel in large volumes, mainly to other metals distributors and original equipment manufacturers in Canada and the U.S. The Canadian dividend stock’s quarterly payout is $0.274 a share. That gives the shares a 4.5% yield on an annualized basis. In the three months ended March 31, 2011, Russel earned $33 million, or $0.55 a share.
