APACHE CORP. $14 is still a hold, but only for aggressive investors. The company (New York symbol APA; Aggressive Growth Portfolio, Resources sector; Shares outstanding: 377.4 million; Market cap: $5.3 billion; Price-to-sales ratio: 1.1; Dividend yield: 0.7%; TSINetwork Rating: Average; www.apachecorp.com) produces oil and natural gas from properties in the U.S., Egypt and the U.K. In the third quarter of 2020, Apache’s average daily production rose 0.5%, to 393,529 barrels from 391,400 a year earlier. However, lower oil prices cut its revenue by 23.7%, to $1.12 billion from $1.47 billion. Excluding one-time items, it lost $59 million, or $0.16 a share. A year earlier it lost $108 million, or $0.29 a share. Apache now expects a cost-cutting plan will save it $400 million a year. That’s up from its earlier forecast of $300 million in annual savings.
