Cymat Technologies, $0.14, symbol CYM on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 110.7 million; Market cap: $15.0 million; www.cymat.com), produces what it calls “stabilized aluminum foam.” This light metallic foam is made by bubbling gas through molten aluminum that contains fine ceramic particles. Cymat believes that the result is a low-cost, recyclable material that can be used in a number of ways, including absorbing shocks, and as insulation against temperature and sound. Cymat reported revenue of just $137,286 in the three months ended January 31, 2011. It lost $889,387 or $0.01 a share. The company holds cash of $441,882, but it’s using up its cash at a rate of roughly $334,357 per quarter. It will likely need to raise cash soon, which will be difficult (and dilutive to current shareholders) at today’s low share price. We don’t recommend Cymat Technologies.
