These figures exclude integration and other costs related to Verizon’s January 2009 purchase of rural wireless carrier Alltel Corp. Revenue rose 10.2%, to $27.3 billion from $24.8 billion, mainly because of Alltel. The company’s $57.4 billion of long-term debt is a high, but manageable, 64% of its market cap. The $1.90 dividend yields 5.9%. Verizon should earn $2.45 a share this year. The stock trades at 13.1 times that estimate. Verizon is a buy.
