Owned by Asia Myanmar Shining Star Company, the five-star Wyndham Grand Yangon Royal Lake will be part of the mixed-use Kantharyar Centre Project, at the southern fringe of Yangon’s popular Kandawgyi Lake. The $157-million U.S. complex will include a residential building, serviced apartments, an office tower and a shopping mall. The hotel is scheduled to be completed in 2017.

Wyndham Worldwide is a hold.

Completion is scheduled for late 2016.

The move is meant to entice suppliers, many of which are located in Michigan, Illinois and other parts of the U.S. Midwest, to locate their factories near the Nissan plant. They will be able to use the logistics centre free of charge to unload parts and store returnable containers.

The Smyrna plant is North America’s busiest, with forecast production of 660,000 cars and SUVs this year (about one every 21 seconds). Major brands include the Maxima, Rogue and Altima.

Nissan is a buy.
