International projects enhance their appeal

Innergex and Brookfield recently announced new projects outside of Canada. These investments will help them tap rising global demand for renewable energy and helo support their solid payouts. With the April 2020 payment, the company increased its quarterly dividend by 2.9%, to $0.18 a share from $0.175. The annual rate of $0.72 yields a strong 3.8%. However, Innergex has decided to maintain the current rate to preserve cash for its growth plans. In June 2022, it paid $861.2 million for three wind farms in Chile with 332 megawatts (MW) of gross installed capacity. That doubles the company’s capacity in the country.
