I would like your advice on Harry Winston Diamond Corp. This company seems like a way to participate in both the mining sector and the high-end retail sector. Is it a buy at the current price?

Harry Winston Diamond Corp., $11.02, symbol HW on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 76.6 million; Market cap: $844.0 million), focuses on the mining and retail segments of the diamond industry. The company owns 31% of the Diavik diamond mine at Lac de Gras, Northwest Territories. It also owns 100% of upscale diamond retailer Harry Winston. The company markets most of its share of Diavik’s diamonds through its marketing arms in Antwerp, Belgium; and Mumbai, India. Harry Winston sells its line of jewellery and timepieces through its 19 Harry Winston salons. Eight of these stores are in the U.S., two are in Europe and nine are in the Far East.
