Pat: What is your opinion on Redknee Solutions? I’ve accumulated the stock over the past two years from $0.80 to $1.20. One of its competitors, Bridgewater, was taken over and there are rumours that Redknee is also a takeover candidate.

Redknee Solutions Inc. $1.18, symbol RKN on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 62.0 million; Market cap: $79.6 million; www.redknee.com) sells software and services that help wireless and wireline (traditional land line) service providers bill for voice, messaging and data delivery. More than 90 network operators in 50 countries use Redknee’s products and services. In the three months ended June 30, 2011, the company’s revenue rose 38.6% to $14.7 million from $10.6 million a year earlier. That mostly reflects the contribution of Nimbus Systems, which Redknee bought for $13.0 million in August 2010. Nimbus and Redknee sell similar services, and Nimbus adds some high-quality clients, like Vodafone, Telenor, Telefonica and KPN. Redknee also continues to win new contracts, and its order backlog is rising. Redknee lost $2.3 million, or $0.04 a share, in the latest quarter, compared to a loss of $229,784, or nil per share, a year earlier. That’s partly because of costs to integrate Nimbus.
