Enpar Technologies, $0.10, symbol ENP on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 67.6 million; Market cap: $6.8 million; www.enpar-tech.com), aims to apply its patented “electrochemical technologies” to treat water that has been contaminated by metals or nutrients, particularly pollutants associated with the mining, metal processing, chemical, agricultural and waste management. Enpar is making very few sales right now. In the three months ended June 30, 2012, it reported revenue of just $14,431, compared to nil a year earlier. It lost $475,906, or $0.01 a share, in the latest quarter. On June 30, 2012, Enpar held cash of $550,536, or $0.01 a share. But it’s using up its cash at a rate of about $500,000 per quarter, so it will need to issue shares at today’s low prices to maintain its operations. That will dilute the holdings of its current investors. Enpar operates in a highly competitive market and will continue to face a lot of difficulty winning contracts.
