Two Aggressive Natural Gas Buys

Most junior natural gas producers are now trading near their lows for the year on investor worries that gas prices will remain low, or even drop further. Natural gas prices are now at about $7.37 U.S. per million British thermal units. That’s up from $6.40 in August, but down from just over $9 earlier this year. Prices touched $16 in late 2005. Nobody can predict natural gas prices with any certainty. Prices are too dependent on the weather and other volatile, unpredictable factors. However, we think that the longer-term outlook for natural gas prices is positive. It’s always difficult to find high-quality juniors trading at low price/cash flow multiples. Nevertheless, two of our recommendations, Endev and Delphi are now trading at less that 2.6 times cash flow –- even with low gas prices. Both are buys right now, but only for aggressive investors.
