A: Tricon Residential Inc., $19.67, symbol TCN on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 272.2 million; Market cap: $5.4 billion; www.triconresidential.com), owns and operates a portfolio of more than 37,000 single-family rental (SFR) homes and multi-family rental apartments in the U.S. and Canada. It focuses on the U.S. Sun Belt. The company also manages capital on behalf of institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and other entities seeking exposure to the residential real estate industry. On December 31, 2021, Tricon had $6.8 billion of assets under management (AUM) on behalf of third-party investors. The Toronto-based real estate company was founded in 1988.
