As part of that plan, it will consolidate its shares: investors will receive one share of Ovintiv for every five Encana shares they hold. The new shares will trade on both the Toronto and New York exchanges under the “OVV” symbol. Relocating to the U.S. should make it easier for Encana to tap new sources of capital to help fund its future growth.
