ManTech International, $34.52, symbol MANT on Nasdaq (Shares outstanding: 36.8 million; Market cap: $1.2 billion; www.mantech.com), supplies information-technology services for U.S. national-security programs. The company sells technology, software and services that support intelligence operations and help secure computer networks. ManTech’s clients include the departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, Energy and Justice (including the Federal Bureau of Investigation). The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps also use ManTech’s products and services. In the three months ended June 30, 2011, ManTech’s revenue rose 13.8%, to $752.7 million from $661.6 million a year earlier. Earnings rose 13.3%, to $36.4 million, or $0.99 a share, from $32.2 million or $0.89 a share. The gains came despite spending cuts by some government agencies. ManTech won $186 million of new work during the latest quarter, and ended the quarter with a backlog of $1.5 billion, up 14% from a year ago.
