When I sat down to write about the 2014 U.S. mid-term Congressional Election results, I was struck by how little things had changed since the 2010 mid-term. Here’s what I wrote four years ago for our Inner Circle Q&A about the 2010 U.S. mid-term: “November 9, 2010 Dear Inner Circle member, It seems the U.S. mid-term Congressional election, and the market’s reaction to it, worked out pretty much as I expected. The Obama administration lost its control of the House of Representatives, and lost much of its majority in the Senate, and the stock market went up. As I’ve said through much of this year and last, the Obama administration’s spending and regulatory plans have been a major market negative. Business people and investors dislike uncertainty, and nobody knew how much taxes were going to go up, nor what sort of regulatory changes were coming. Even President Obama’s business supporters were reluctant to invest until they knew what sort of tax rates and regulations…
