Brookfield Global Infrastructure Securities Income Fund, $6.48, symbol BGI.UN on Toronto (Units outstanding: 34.4 million; Market cap: $222.9 million, www.brookfieldim.com), is a closed-end fund that holds publicly traded global infrastructure companies. The fund first sold units at $10 each to the public and began trading on the Toronto exchange on July 18, 2013. Brookfield Global’s investments are diverse: pipelines, communications companies, airports, electric power plants, water and sewage, railways, natural gas processing facilities and toll roads. Its geographic breakdown includes the following: the U.S., 58%; Europe, 18%; Canada, 10%; Latin America, 5%; and Australia, 2%. The fund’s top 10 holdings are: Energy Transfer Partners LP; Targa Resources; Veresen Inc.; American Tower; Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte Sab. De CV; ENN Energy Holdings; Boardwalk Pipeline Partners LP; Aena SA; SBA Communications; and Group Eurotunnel SA. Brookfield Global’s units yield a high 9.3%.
