Honda sold 1.3 million vehicles in its fiscal 2018 first quarter ended June 30, 2017. That was up 4.5% from a year earlier. Motorcycle sales rose 8.0%. Due to unfavourable currency rates, Honda’s overall revenue for the quarter fell 1.7%, to $33.2 billion from $33.7 billion. However, thanks to a successful cost-cutting plan, earnings per ADR (each American Depositary Receipt equals one common share) rose 9.6%, to $1.03 from $0.94. Honda is a buy. MCCORMICK & CO.
