Focus on high yields that are sustainable

High-yielding ETFs have appeal for income-seeking investors. The income they provide can also provide a buffer in declining markets. However, you need to look closely at the strategies that let those ETFs pay their high yields—and whether they are worth the risks. INVESCO GLOBAL LISTED PRIVATE EQUITY ETF $11.07 (New York symbol PSP; TSINetwork ETF Rating: Aggressive; Market cap: $170.1 million) tracks the Red Rocks Global Listed Private Equity Index. The index focuses on 40 to 75 stock-market listed private equity firms, including business development corporations, closed-end funds, and master limited partnerships. The bulk of the holdings are U.S. securities (40%), but there are also holdings in the U.K. (21%), Sweden (8%), Switzerland (6%), France, Belgium and Canada (5% each). The ETF holds 65 securities.
