WYNDHAM WORLDWIDE CORP., $102.22, symbol WYN on New York, is one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, with over 8,100 franchised hotels across 77 countries and under 19 brands. The company also manages vacation resorts, rental properties, luxury clubs and timeshares. It currently has around 112,000 vacation-rental properties in 100 countries. Wyndham announced this week that it will split its operations into two separate, publicly traded companies. It will do this by spinning off its hotel division, which last year generated revenue of $1.3 billion. The remaining company will centre on Wyndham’s time-share business and hold Wyndham Vacation Ownership and RCI. A vacation-ownership exchange network, RCI has more than 4,300 properties in more than 100 countries. Mike Brown will serve as CEO for the new Wyndham parent company.
