ALIMENTATION COUCHE-TARD INC., $65.52, symbol ATD.B on Toronto, operates 12,661 convenience stores across North America and Europe. The company has signed a deal with CrossAmerica Partners LP to swap some of their convenience and gas station assets in the U.S. CrossAmerica (symbol CAPL on New York) is a distributor of branded petroleum for motor vehicles in the U.S. It distributes fuel to roughly 1,200 locations, of which it owns or leases approximately 900. The company operates in 29 states. Under the agreement, Couche-Tard will sell 192 U.S. convenience and fuel retail stores to CrossAmerica, with a value of $184.5 million U.S. Meanwhile, CrossAmerica has, in turn, agreed to sell Couche-Tard assets valued at $184.5 million U.S. They include 56 U.S. company-operated convenience and fuel retail stores leased and operated by Couche-Tard and 17 stores owned and operated by CrossAmerica.
