A: NFI Group Inc., $27.32, symbol NFI on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 60.8 million; Market cap: $1.7 billion; www.newflyer.com), is a leading transit bus maker in the U.S., Canada and globally. It also provides parts and service. In total, NFI now supports over 105,000 buses and coaches currently in service around the world. Earlier this year, the company changed its name from New Flyer Industries. In December 2017, NFI Group paid $95 million U.S. for ARBOC, a North American leader in low-floor, body-on-chassis (or “cutaway”) bus technology. These buses range between 21 and 35 feet in length, and operate in transit, paratransit and shuttle applications. ARBOC buses exceed U.S. federal fuel economy standards and Buy America requirements; they also undergo safety testing beyond industry norms.
